Items You Should Take with You on Your Hajj Trip

Hajj is a grand occasion for Muslims. Pilgrims or non-pilgrims, every Muslim reserve the same significance, love, and respect for the holy pilgrimage. The annual gathering of almost 4 million Muslims on the order of Allah Almighty and in the sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW) is an exceptional sight.   Despite belonging to different nationalities, races, ages, cultures, economic backgrounds, languages, traditions – Muslims are united under one relation and that is of Islam. The relation of equality, peace and love. Simply, it’s a dream come true. 

Therefore, if you are also travelling for Hajj in the coming months, here are the items you should take on your trip. 

Appropriately sized Travel Bags and Suitcases.

Appropriately sized travel bags for your every need are very important. Alternatively, you can also make portions inside your suitcase for things to be kept. It will help you stay organized and efficient during your Hajj. However, a backpack or a waist bag is necessary for all conditions. Inside of which you can carry your travel essentials, medicines and some snacks. 

Travel Essentials/Documents.

One should always travel with its travel essentials. Everywhere you go, you must always keep all your documents with you. So that appropriate steps can be taken in case of emergencies.

  • Personalized IDs. Preferably, passports with approved visa detail.
  • Your Medical History and Vaccination Certificates.
  • Flight Reservation Information.
  • Hotel Addresses and Booking Information.
  • A list of your close relatives/friends’ phone numbers.
  • Relationship proof (of a woman with her Mahram); Birth or Marriage certificates.
  • Some local Currency i.e. Saudi Riyals. As well as debit/credit card(s).

If possible, also make multiple copies of these documents and keep as a backup. 

Medicines.

Medicines are very crucial especially when you are on medical treatment. Even if you are perfectly healthy and fit, it’s better to travel with some precautionary medicines. Namely; Aspirin, Paracetamol, Anti-biotics, Flu medicines, Antiseptic cream, Anti-allergy and a first aid kit. 

Comfortable and Light Clothing.

2x Ihram, 3x Kurta Pyjamas, 2x Sandals/Slippers/Slides are more than enough for your entire Hajj trip. While also, an umbrella is a necessary part because it will protect you in harsh sunlight conditions.   

Necessary Electronics.

Mobile Phones, Power banks and Chargers, Universal Adapters, Extension Leads, Iron, Health Watches (Wrist) and Laptops are some of the daily used electronics. Despite that, it is essential to have a communicating medium to stay in touch with your family, friends and relatives back home. Therefore, always take your necessary electronics with you. 

Some Snacks.

Snacks are not necessary to pack however it is recommended to do so. Especially during the days of hajj when you will be staying in Mina, Arafat, Muzdalifah and remain busy in hajj rituals. These snacks act as a quick energy source. There’s no specification in this regard. You can take whatever eatables are favourite to you.
